Waitresses, sales clerks, cashiers, Wal-Mart greeters, day-care or nursing-home workers, housecleaners... you've probably thought of someone you know personally (or would like to) already. Why not have your group take an evening to serve those who serve you on a daily basis, and give them a much-needed break? Plan a dinner for six to eight service professionals as your special guests. Set a formal table. Treat your guests as special, and be genuine about it. Try as much as possible to put yourself in their shoes; talk to them about their jobs and how you appreciate the service they've given you. Also ask about the things that really matter in their lives, and listen as they share. Make a habit of throwing these dinners, if you like. The service professionals you serve will not only feel loved and appreciated, but you'll next time you're dealing a busy sales clerk or get the wrong order delivered for lunch, you'll see the situation with brand-new eyes! share this article 1 of 1 /// Related Articles Launching Into Third SpacePastor and small-group leader David Fisher offers a third way for small groups to develop and reach their world for Jesus.
